Absentee Voting
WHO MAY VOTE ABSENTEE:
Absentee voting no longer requires a reason.
If you are a qualified voter, you may vote absentee. (A qualified
voter is registered from the address of current residence with the
name currently used):
VOTING IN PERSON: Registered voters may vote
in person beginning February 9, 2012, for the General Primary
Election. The last day to vote absentee in person is the day before
the election, March 19, 2012.

application. Complete, sign and mail the application to the
above address.
Ballots will be mailed February 9, 2012, or as the application is
received in the office of the Board of Elections.
Persons who register to vote by mail are required to show or mail
a copy of ID with current name and address the first time they vote
in the jurisdiction.
A registered voter, may request an application for an absentee
ballot by mail not less than 5 days prior to the date of the
election. Upon receipt of the completed and signed application in
the office of the election authority, a ballot will be mailed to
the address requested. Sufficient time must be allowed for the
voter to receive, sign and return the application no later than the
Thursday before the election (March 15, 2012).
The ballot must be received, voted and postmarked for return to the
Board of Elections no later than Midnight the day before the
election (March 19, 2012). All ballots postmarked by
Midnight, March 19, 2012, will be counted if received within 14
days of the election.
Hospitalized - March 6, 2012 - March 20,
2012
There are provisions for persons hospitalized from March 6, 2012,
through March 20, 2012, to vote an absentee ballot, if a relative
or licensed messenger service is available to hand carry the
application from the Election Office to the voter and back to the
office; where the ballot is picked up, delivered to the voter and
returned to the Election Office.
